Tippy Canoe & The Paddlemen
Songbird and uke-slinger, Tippy Canoe, aka Michele Kappel (from Sympathy For the Record Industry's The Kirby Grips),
is on a mission to bring sincere uplift in a severely down-slanted era. Her voice is a mixture of the 60's girl group
sound and classic country with its own quirky nature shining through. Her songwriting bears the stamp of a person who
has absorbed a variety of influences. These range from 20's and 30's acts like The Boswell Sisters & Jack Teagarden
to 50's and 60's performers like Brenda Lee & The Chiffons and catchy post-punk bands such as Squeeze & Blondie.
Mad Tea Party
Uke-abilly, Retro-Pop, Rock 'n' Roll, the Mad Tea Party brews up roots music, retro-pop and rock 'n' roll to create a
fresh and intoxicating sound. Ami Worthen and Jason Krekel serve up an exciting live show to music lovers thirsty for upbeat,
original refreshment. Quirky harmonies glide over electrified ukulele, juke-joint guitar, scratchy fiddle and pulsing foot percussion.
Songs about love, life, death and dancing are steeped in raw rockabilly with shreds of doo wop and devilish blues. Mad Tea Party
concocts a musical recipe that is familiar yet unusual.
